Source: CP News; Former Golden Girls star Betty White has sadly passed away at the age of 99. This news became available on New Year’s Eve via numerous reports, including TMZ.
Betty White’s agent, Jeff Witjas, released this statement, per People:
“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas told PEOPLE in a statement on Friday. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”
For those unaware, Betty White was more than just the fun lady in commercials and everyone’s favorite character in Golden Girls. Her career spanned multiple decades, portraying characters ranging from her zany portrayals she’s most known for to some more serious roles far earlier in her career.
White was only a few weeks away from reaching her 100th birthday. While Betty White passes away before reaching such a milestone, her memory and spirit touched millions of people over her 99 years on the planet. She’ll be deeply missed by more than just family.
With all of that being said, 2021 is going out the way it came in, as one of the worst years in the history of years, capping it off with the death of one of the most beloved actress of the last 60 years. RIP, Betty White. You were one of a kind and will be missed.
