The popular Korean pop group, BTS, is one of the most famous international music artists with a dedicated fanbase who call themselves Army. BTS have launched a phone app called BTS World, available for iPhone and Android, where fans can feel even closer to their idols by trying their hand at becoming BTS’s manager.

BTS have been taking center stage in American pop culture, performing at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards and even collaborating with huge artists, such as Halsey. BTS have always been savvy online, sharing much of their personalities through their social media accounts, contributing to the level of fame they have now reached. Maintaining a focus on reaching fans through technology, the debut of this mobile game seems like a perfect fit for the BTS brand.

The game begins in 2012, prior to the formation of the group. Acting as a manager at Big Hit, BTS’s label, with the objective of finding all seven members, signing them and helping them build their brand to its current height.

The game is along the lines of Kim Kardashian Hollywood, which once took the world by storm, however BTS World is unique because instead of utilizing animation, the app features real photos and videos of BTS. This, meaning the members of BTS likely spent a significant amount of time posing for photos, videos and acting out scenes which play out throughout the storyline.

The game includes 10,000 exclusive new photos and 100 video clips. Players can also virtually interact with members of BTS as their manager in the game through various one-on-one interactive scenarios. The game even allows for players to virtually interact with members by texting or calling them.

While there is an overall storyline which involves all seven members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, there are also subplots for each member that players may explore.

In addition to the exclusive visual content offered by the game, a brand new title song from the “BTS World” original soundtrack called, “Heartbeat (BTS World OST),” was exclusive within the game for the first 48 hours until the full “BTS World OST” album released June 28.

The album, which coincides with the game, includes seven songs which serve as each member’s theme song. Songs, “Dream Glow (BTS World OST Part.1),” “A Brand New Day (BTS World OST Part.2),” and “All Night (BTS World OST Part.3),” were already released prior to the game’s announcement.
