Like many celebrities, Ansel Elgort, star of “Baby Driver” and “The Fault in Our Stars,” has taken to social media to show support for causes that help those impacted by the coronavirus, however he decided to get his fan’s attention in a pretty unconventional way.

Elgort shared a NSFW shower picture on his Instagram account, directing his followers to a supposed OnlyFans account link in his bio. OnlyFans is a social media site growing in popularity in which users can exchange racy content for a fee. Many fans rushed to click the link only to find that Elgort had instead linked to a charitable cause.

Elgort linked to a GoFund me for the organization Brooklyn For Life!, a campaign lead by a group of Brooklyn restaurants that are delivering 2,500 daily meals to Brooklyn Hospital workers during the coronavirus pandemic. The site was created by Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright and has a $1 million goal.

The GoFund me page states “Our goal is to fund each Brooklyn for Life! restaurant, enabling them to provide – at no cost to the recipients – at least 75-100 meals per day for delivery to the Brooklyn frontlines of this pandemic.”

Several celebrities even responded to the post in the comments with Cody Simpson writing, “Fell for it hard.” Diplo also chimed in, jokingly writing, “Ur the worst.”

After the post garnered this attention, Elgort took to his Instagram story stating, “I don’t know how much of this is from the post but it seems a lot of people have been giving in the last few hours. Thanks a lot, looks like it was worth it.”

Instagram soon took the post down due to the graphic content, but Elgort quickly posted a video of a sunset in it’s place instead, writing “sex sells better than sunsets, plz donate at link in bio.”

He followed up the post stating, “Sorry if I offended anybody but we did a good thing, and my dad took the picture by the way. He was mad, he said that I needed to give him credit.”
