Since her graduation from the University of Oklahoma in 2016, Mary Ann Baber has been working thriving in the sports marketing and media industries. Mary Ann has accomplished many things throughout her career so far including following and covering amazing athletes like Baker Mayfield and Buddy Hield at her time at OU. She was also able to gain experience both on and off camera working for the Oklahoma City Thunder, NBA Team, the OKC, Dodgers Triple-A Baseball team, pro soccer, and working for some awesome local nonprofits.
She currently works for a National Golf Company and platform called SwingThought as their Marketing Director where she gets to help organize, communicate, and share the stories of professional and aspiring pro golfers across the US! The 28-year-old recently became a part of an amazing start-up local TV show produced by Giovanni Films, called the Soul of Charlotte where Baber and a few other Charlotte natives get to explore what makes this city so great and share that with their viewers. Unfortunately, due to The coronavirus, production has been put on hold but they are looking forward to reuniting and getting able to share the great things Queen City has to offer very soon. Mary Ann grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, and lived there from when she was two until she was 19 years old. Baber is an immigrant from Caracas, Venezuela, and spent two years reconnecting with her culture there which she explains as “the best and craziest two years of my life.” She is passionate about issues surrounding the immigrant community and the first-generation American community as she is a part of both. She has been married to her college sweetheart for almost seven years, who works as a campus pastor at UNCC through the Presbyterian Church. When she is not working she is exploring the city, going dancing with friends, hanging out with her family, and learning the latest Tik Tok trends, although she never posts them. Her music taste ranges from Hip Hop to Classic Rock and she will take every opportunity to sing the harmonies of a song. According to her, sarcasm is her love language and she always keeps it real.
