Brought to life by Level 21 Magazine, this year’s Carolina Fashion Awards was in support of The American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer.

Main stage models during Awards Night were from several agencies or independent. Highlighting one agency available during the production was Maevee Modelz Agency a minority owned agency with 4 locations and various models to book for shows, events, and editorials.

The main show designers for the evening were Demetrius Blayde and Christopher Goff also included in the Carolina Fashion Awards Magazine.

Demetrius Blayde

Demetrius Blayde started designing back in 2013. He has always had a passion for fashion and design. When in college, Blayde began altering sleeves and reworking t-shirts.With no prior sewing experience he taught himself to hand sew and eventually learned how to use a sewing machine. “I grew up watching anime, and was inspired by the styles and aesthetics that define Asian fashion— from the kimono robes to the silk jackets.” Blayde says. These designs ultimately pushed Demetrius into the fashion industry and inspired the Demi Blvck aesthetic. Throughout the years, the Demi Blvck aesthetic has progressed and transformed, but continues to feel cutting edge and fresh by design. Blayde stated to level21 “I hope that the Demi Blvck aesthetic inspires you in the same way that it continues to inspire me.” www.demiblvck.com

To have been nominated for any of the categories was a definite nod to the greatness of each of these designers, artists, and industry professionals. However, there were select winners by category. To qualify for a Carolina Fashion Award the fashion community must nominate and vote. Professionals must be from NC or SC, currently live in either state or do business with the Carolina Fashion Industry. Nominees must also be involved in the fashion community and have longevity in their field. After the voting period the board of directors with over 15 years industry experience determine the final outcome after all of the previously mentioned criteria is considered.
