Did you know that “according to data compiled by virtual event solutions company, Evia, women make up less than 20 percent of U.S. tech jobs, even though they make up more than half of the U.S. workforce”? Thankfully, Mamizi is making strides to reverse this statistic. Mamizi is an “engaging ecosystem to help women create and develop blueprints for success, built on beautiful experiences & technology”. This organization are affording women opportunities within the technology, media, and small business/entrepreneurship business sectors.
On July 28, 2018, over 300 individuals converged to uptown Charlotte, North Carolina to attend the Mamizi Women’s Conference. Our Level 21 magazine’s publisher, Tempestt Harris and sales consultant, Ashley Lindo were in attendance to witness this phenomenal event. This year’s conference featured FinTech in its technological spotlight. Investopedia defines FinTech as “a portmanteau of financial technology that describes an emerging financial services sector in the 21st century…The term has expanded to include any technological innovation in the financial sector, including innovations in financial literacy and education, retail banking, investment and even crypto-currencies like bitcoin.” For the attendees interested in media, Mamizi focused on Digital Content and its evolution. The conference’s entrepreneurial component centered around the “pressures of choice verses options”. This extraordinary eight- hours event provided an organic space for its attendees to invest in their own growth and development.
Novelist, Ayn Rand once said that, “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” Mamizi is determined to generate opportunities for unstoppable women. Founded in 2014, the organization was created to address the “need to arm women with their own ecosystem to develop themselves”. They are continuing to assist women with their eyes on the prize within the technology, media, and entrepreneurial arenas. The next exciting Mamizi’s event will be a Media Relations luncheon held on October 20, 2018.
