As the Coronavirus in Brazil rises to more than 20 million cases since the pandemic began, and the death toll passes 566, 896 people, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro calls for the end of mask use. The entire scientific world has proven over and over masks protect and mitigate the virus spread, (who.int). Why do people choose to ignore their expertise and proof? The danger lies when an elected official set up to lead the people guides his flock errantly. Herd immunity requires a 70-85% full vaccination rate. During the Olympics in Japan, the athletes in the bubble had said rate of immunization, and the positive new cases within that bubble held at .02%.
