Mirroring the magic of the original Charlie’s Angels, three powerful women: Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey, team up to take on the theme song for the newest reboot. Ariana Grande will take on an even larger role, co executive producing the soundtrack.

On June 22, fans initially noticed a post on the official Giphy account with all three artists tagged alongside the word, “angels,” which many correctly speculated was a Charlie’s Angels collaboration coming soon.

Grande and Cyrus both teased the project on their social media accounts and tagged Del Rey in each. On June 26, 2019, they both posted the same video on Instagram and Twitter, featuring the Charlie’s Angels logo, and the word, “Uploading…” Cyrus wrote: “WE ARE COMING!” and Grande captioned the video, “trailer tomorrow.” Both artists also tagged the Charlie’s Angels twitter account.

On June 27, Grande posted the trailer on her Instagram account with the announcement that she will be co executive producing the soundtrack.
She stated, “beyond grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for everyone to hear the music and see this phenomenal film.”

She continued on Instagram, “co executive producing this soundtrack with @awsuki @ilya_music & #mxmhas been the coolest…thing in the world. beyond grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for everyone to hear the music and see this phenomenal film. november.”

Grande and Cyrus are longtime friends, performing together at the One Love Manchester benefit in the U.K. in 2017. As well, Cyrus has supported Del Rey by covering her hit song, “Summertime Sadness.” Del Rey has also been seen on Instagram singing along to Grande’s song “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.”

A snippet of the song can be heard in the Charlie’s Angels trailer, which released June 27. Starring in the film are Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska as the iconic three angels, as well as young breakthrough star, Noah Centineo. Charlie’s Angels also features Elizabeth Banks, who is also directing the film.

Charlie’s Angels will release November 15, 2019.
