Google has introduced a new aspect to their search results: tweets! Or something similar to them, at least. Musicians are now able to promote their music, upcoming tours, or pretty much anything they want on Google.
Some of you may be wondering why this new feature is necessary. That’s a valid question, but seeing as many people do not use social media on a regular basis, this is just an extra tool for artists to help reach out to fans who won’t know what’s going on with their favorite artists otherwise. It certainly doesn’t hurt to have another outlet to let the world know about your upcoming tour with 100 stops in 50 countries.
On the other hand, it might make the search results page look a little bit more busy than it already does. Keep in mind, these messages may also include videos and gifs, which can get obnoxious after a while, particularly if the videos have an autoplay feature.
Sound off in the comments if you think this new feature is a good idea or not. What changes would you make, if any?
