Level21 and Eat Work Play : A Partnership for the Arts
The innovative social media consultant and author, Simon Mainwaring, once said, “creating a better world requires teamwork, partnerships, and collaboration, as we need an entire army of companies to work together to build a better world within the next few decades. This means corporations must embrace the benefits of cooperating with one another.” In heeding Mainwaring’s advice for collaboration, Eat Work Play (EWP) and Level 21 are partnering to bring Charlotte’s Fashion and Entertainment sector to the forefront. Combining our ‘Wonder Twins powers’ to introduce Charlotteans to the amazing spectacles happening in the art community, in which newcomers to the city have stated was difficult to find.
Eat Work Play is celebrated as Charlotte’s premier gateway for young professionals to connect with their local community and culture. With over 100,000 users, EWP has become the virtual travel agent for Charlotte, North Carolina. EWP’s founder, Davon Bailey, moved to Charlotte in pursuit of a career opportunity with Bank of America. While working for the bank, Bailey felt an urge to become more immersed within Charlotte’s business and social opportunities. Therefore, he created Eat Work Play as a fun social platform to “find the best restaurants, events, and ways to connect with like-minded individuals in Charlotte”. According to Charlotte Happening Magazine, Bailey quit his day job at Bank of America to “to take his side hustle (of EWP) full time.”

EWP is devoted to bringing the fun way to socialize and work in Charlotte to the forefront of its residents and visitors. In fact, according to EWP, “our passion for this amazing city and the millennials that live in it is the gas that is fueling our 8-cylinder turbo diesel engine, all day and all night! We won’t rest until new and current residents in Charlotte, call the Queen City home, and feel connected to it.”
During this same year of 2017, Tempestt Harris, the Chief Executive Officer of Level 21 Magazine, shifted gears by rebranding both Level21TV and Level21 Magazine. According to Harris, “Level 21 is more than a media company. Our mission is to save the Media/Entertainment Industry one issue at a time. We want to make the invisible VISIBLE.” Level 21 has branded themselves as the subject matter experts on fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment with currently over one million readers.
With the partnership of Eat Work Play and Level 21, Charlotte will be enthralled with the the arts and entertainment industries’ amazing runway shows and exclusive events that may have been hard to find in the past. They are changing the landscape of seeing the Queen City from ‘a glass half empty’ perspective. These two organizations are adopting Barack Obama’s motto of, “change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
