Level 21 Magazine and New York Fashion Week producer Shukura Oni  host the 4th annual Fashion Excursion, at which six different designers each showcased collections at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC, on May 19. Tickets quickly sold out for the event, and the 300 in attendance watched 85 looks go down the runway from the various unique collections. The historic event broke the SouthEast record for the longest Fashion Show Runway in the state of North Carolina; coming in at just over 150ft. ( About half of a football field)

The hour-long runway show, hosted by Charlotte Hornet and radio personality, Jacinda and Television personality Yandrick Paraison, featured 85 models, one of which was “America’s Next Top Model” contestant, Victoria Henley, walking for both Demi Blvck and Premal Badiani. The models made their way around a picturesque and lengthy fountain pathway, spanning the length of half of a football field.

With a focus on giving back, a portion of the proceeds from the event benefited the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.

The show opened with the title sponsor Cabela’s, an outdoor shop by Bass Pro ; located in Fort Mill SC that specialized in more casual, everyday wear. Cabela’s showcased a collection of easy, wearable men and women’s summer designs, including swimwear.

Following was the brand, En Rootz, a luxurious line of looks influenced by asian culture. The brand introduced vibrant handmade designs to a global market by modernizing classic Indian designs to suit an international design aesthetic.

Designer Demi Blvck introduced a series of designs that combine Asian and African couture. Demi Blvck’s artistic perspective subverts classic rules of fashion by reimagining the trends of the past as that of the future.

Brand, Kitty and Rhodes showcased a number of chic designs which marry classic silhouettes and fabrics with more contemporary styling. Kitty and Rhodes featured a series of unique looks that blend old with new.

Designer, Teresa Caldwell, mother of Rap & Film Superstar Bow Wow, presented a line of clothing from Taste Online Boutique as well as hosting a pop up shop at The Fashion Excursion. Caldwell’s experience with the therapeutic aspect of fashion brings her passion to a line of clothing and accessories that embody the modern trends of the modern woman.

Closing the show was the brand, Premal Badiani, presenting a collection of extravagant formal gowns. This luxe collection provided an opulent, head-turning conclusion to the 2019 Fashion Excursion with fashion forward designs for a sophisticated woman.

This selection of designers made for a show full of surprises, as each collection diverged from the collection prior. With every model to grace the runway, an innovative and awe inspiring look stunned guests. The event showcased such a diverse presentation that all guests in attendance could discover their new favorite designer.

After exceeding expectations as well as outperforming previous events, CEO of Level 21 Magazine, Tempestt Harris, COO, Maresa Scott and CEO of The Fashion Excursion, Shukura Porter look forward to an even bigger and better Fashion Excursion next year.
