For a flawless makeup application skin comes first. For years I’ve struggled with acne. I have skin care horror stories but 2.5 years ago I found my favorite skincare products that have cleared up my skin without causing irritation. The keys to taking care of your skin issues is using natural skincare that is paraben-free, staying consistent and watching what you eat.

Cleanse & Exfoliate

Natural ingredients like aloe and soapberry  kill bacteria and has anti-imflamatory properties that soothes the skin. Soapberry plant contains natural saponins that cleanse the skin and have been proven to inhibit melanin production, reducing the appearance of age spots and sun damage. Dream Clean from LimeLife by Alcone has definitely been my dream cleanser.

Exfoliating 2-3 times a week will drastically improve your skin. Exfoliating your skin works to remove the top layer of skin causing your skin to be dull, cleanses pores, removes excess oil, increases blood circulation and gives you smoother skin. Skin Polish has lemon and jojoba beads and smells absolutely amazing.

Balance

I call this one my emergency mask. When we have a breakout that means we may have an imbalance in our skin. Masque of Zen is an acne-fighting mask with Montana Clay, Tea Tree Oil, White Carrot Oil, and Cinnamon Bark, which acts simultaneously against all the major causes of skin imbalance. Cinnamon bark helps regulate bacteria without throwing off the skin cell balance and tea tree oil heals skin inflammation.

Quench

When looking for a moisturizer you want to look for natural hydrating ingredients. One of my favorites is Skin Therapist which has Safflower Oil, Evening Primrose, Pomegranate Sterols, and naturally occurring sugars. The Oat Protein calms, restores and soothes my skin.

Another moisturizer I love to use is Forty Cure Creme the organic lavender and Egyptian rose geranium have strong cellular repairing properties healing my dark spots and minimizing my pores.

Glow

I love a dewy look and Dew Date gives me life. When I am not wearing makeup this makes my skin look great. Dew Date is a sunflower and palamose oil that reduces skin inflammation and protects skin damage as well as gives you a dewy finish. It is also a great mixing agent with a foundation.
